National Motorcycle Museum (Rimini, Italy)
Founded in 1993 by three enthusiasts (G. Corvatta, G. Savoretti, and T. Zaghini), the National Motorcycle Museum was the first in Italy dedicated entirely to motorcycles. It now houses over 250 models from 55 different brands, displayed thematically in historical order.
Exhibition Path
The museum tour is divided into sections that illustrate the evolution of the motorcycle:
Pioneers (late 1800s – early 1900s): models like the French Werner and Italian Frera and Stucchi.
War period: road and racing bikes, including iconic Moto Guzzi models.
Sidecars & scooters: a wide range of Italian and international sidecars, Vespas, and Lambrettas.
Grand Prix & everyday bikes: from competition jewels like Bimota and Aermacchi to post-war daily-use motorcycles.
“Made in Romagna” era & 1970s classics: regional models and vintage icons.
Highlights
Rare pieces: such as a 1924 Frera SS 4V, a 1140 cc Frera V-twin, and a 1937 Moto Guzzi 500 GTV owned by artist Antonio Ligabue.
Legendary brands: Aermacchi, Benelli, BSA, Ducati, Harley Davidson, Norton, Triumph, Indian, and more.
Library & archives: over 10,000 original documents — ideal for restorers and history buffs.
