RAF - THE ITALIAN SONGWRITER
Raffaele Riefoli, aka Raf, was born in Margherita di Savoia, in the province of Lecce, on 29 September 1959.
Before dedicating himself to music, he moved to Florence, enrolling in the faculty of architecture, and it was there that he became passionate about the guitar and rock music: here he met the guitarist of Litfiba.
He left his region, Tuscany, to move to London and found his own band called "Cafè Caracas".
At the time, unfortunately, making a living from music was almost impossible, so Raf had to work as a bartender and labourer.
Four years later, Raf decided to leave the band to pursue a solo career.
In 1984 the album "Self Control" was released, but success came in 1988 with the album "Cosa restarà".
Among the artist's most famous songs we find: Ti pretendo and Battito animalie.
Later, in 2001, Raf debuted with a new album launched by the single Infinito.
He participated in Sanremo: in 1988 with "Inevitabile Folliness", in 1989 with "Cosa restarà degli anni '80", in 1991 with "Oggi un Dio non ho" and in 2015 with "Come una favola".
