SAN LEO

San Leo, San Lé in Romagna, is a wonderful capital of art, mentioned by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy.

San Leo is an Italian town in the province of Rimini located on a rock spur in the Valmarecchia from which you
can observe San Marino and the Marecchia.
 

It is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Even today the medieval center preserves the Roman buildings: Pieve, Cathedral and Bell Tower.

 

The Pieve is dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta and is the oldest religious monument in Montefeltro.

The building was built on the site where San Leone retired to pray.

 

From San Leo you can enjoy a wonderful view over the entire Marecchia valley.
