ROCCHETTA MATTEI 178 KM
An inimitable architectural treasure 2 hours from Riccione.
The Rocchetta Mattei is an architectural jewel that everyone can visit today, reopened to the public in 2015, a unique construction of its kind that fascinates everyone.
The “Rocchetta Mattei” castle was built by Count Cesare Mattei (1809-1896) on the ruins of an ancient building: the Rocca di Savignano.
The structure of the castle was modified several times by the count and his heirs, making it a labyrinth of towers, monumental stairways, reception rooms and private rooms with different styles: from neo-medieval to neo-Renaissance, from Moorish to Liberty.
It can be visited on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 15 in the winter and from 9.30 to 13 and from 15 to 17.30 in the summer. The visit lasts about an hour.
