RIMINI E FEDERICO FELLINI
2020 is the year in which we celebrate and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great director FEDERICO FELLINI.
A myth for the city of Rimini, the Municipality wanted to celebrate its citizen, adorning the city in memory of him, with the magic of "La Dolce Vita".
An itinerary entirely dedicated to the great Federico Fellini starts from the luxurious and elegant Grand Hotel in Rimini which overlooks Parco Fellini.
Piazza Cavour (better known as "Piazza della Pigna" due to the stone pine cone placed on the fountain in the center of the square) and Piazza Tre Martiri are those of "Amarcord", the Fulgor cinema in Corso d'Augusto which returns to "Rome" and "Amarcord", the beach with the cabins of the "Città delle Donne", the arcades and benches of "I Vitelloni", on the beautiful Rimini Lungomare.
Piazza Cavour and the “Pigna”
Fellini told of having attended a circus show as a child in a big tent that was located in front of the Sigismondo Castle (or Rocca Malatestiana) and drew inspiration for some of his films.
The tomb of Federico Fellini and Giulietta Masina, his wife, is at the entrance to the Monumental Cemetery of Rimini, surmounted by a bronze sculpture by Arnaldo Pomodoro which depicts the "Great Prow" of a ship pointing to the sky and reminiscent of the Rex by Amarcord.
In the village of San Giuliano, a few steps from the center, near the Tiberius Bridge, you can admire splendid murals dedicated to the Maestro and his films in the labyrinth of narrow streets, with well-kept restaurants and cafes.
